An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Constituency Organiser to work for the St Ives Constituency Liberal Democrats. The Constituency Party came close to regaining the Parliamentary seat at the General Election this year (missing by 312 votes) and is determined to win the constituency back.

The Liberal Democrats – in conjunction with the Independent group – control Cornwall Council. One of the council’s cabinet members is also the member for the St Just division within the St Ives constituency. 4 of the 20 Councillors on the Cornwall mainland of the constituency are Liberal Democrats. All 16 councillors on the Isles of Scilly are ‘Independent’.

The Constituency Organiser will play a central role within the local party reporting to the Deputy Head of Campaigns and the local party. The role presents an opportunity to develop skills in a constituency which is developing after successful local election results of May this year and a very strong showing in the General Election in June.

The office location is Penzance, the major town of this constituency which also includes St Ives, Helston, St Just, Porthleven and Marazion and the Isles of Scilly.
