International Alert (Alert) has an exciting opportunity open for a dynamic leader. The individual will oversee Alert’s Economic Development for Peace portfolio. As part of the Peacebuilding Advisory Unit (PAU), you will provide global leadership, advocacy and expertise on topics relevant to peacebuilding and collaborate with our country teams to ensure high quality and effective programming.

You will manage a small team within PAU, and provide conceptual, strategic and practical leadership and support for Alert’s work understanding economic factors of peacebuilding and influencing the economic policies and practices of governments, international organisations and businesses so they are conflict-sensitive peace conductive.

We believe that to be successful in this job you will have the ability to apply a high-level conceptual analysis to generate practical ideas, and tailor and communicate these to diverse audiences with authority and empathy.
