A high-profile opportunity has arisen at the heart of WalthamForest’s democratic structure.

As the Leader’s Executive Officer, you will be responsible for providing direct support to the Leader of the Council. You will act as the link between the Leader and the rest of the Council, including its Cabinet, Chief Executive and Senior Management Team.

It’s a busy and demanding role, so we’re looking for an pro-active energetic individual who has a good understanding of politics and the political process, as well as previous experience of working with senior politicians. It goes without saying that you’ll be a first-class communicator with the gravitas and credibility to influence at a senior level. You will have well developed research and organisational skills and the ability to quickly grasp issues and turn them into briefings for the Leader. You’ll also be accustomed to working flexibly on your own initiative, to work across the team and assist colleagues where necessary and to respond sensitively and imaginatively to a wide range of issues
