Lexington is offering an exciting opportunity to join our successful PR and communications team with a full-time internship. Interns should be able to commit to a period of three months.

The intern will play a key role in a busy team working across a range of communications campaigns and projects for clients of Lexington. This position offers the opportunity to experience all aspects of work in a busy communications agency, including media relations, PR, digital and issues management.

The successful applicant will work across a variety of client sectors as well as communications and media engagement on general political issues. Tasks include media monitoring, research, gathering information about media targets, drafting and selling in press materials, as well providing general assistance to the team. The ideal candidate must be passionate about the news agenda (including broadcast, print and digital) and have an understanding of how news stories are constructed both by PR teams and journalists.

The intern should have an interest in the interplay between social media and politics. They will be expected to support on social and digital activity, including content creation, engagement on social networks including LinkedIn and Twitter, and use of multimedia channels for effective campaigning.

The position would suit a recent graduate looking to build their experience in corporate communications, campaigning and political consultancy. We are looking for someone with excellent written and communications skills, genuine passion and interest in the UK media landscape and the digital sphere, excellent attention to detail, strong organisation and time management skills, and a positive, can-do attitude. Experience with photo or video editing is desirable, as is familiarity with media databases such as Gorkana.
