Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) provide fire and rescue cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from 18 fire stations across the Royal County of Berkshire. Royal Berkshire Fire Authority (RBFA) has a legal duty to ensure that an effective fire and rescue service is provided across Berkshire.

RBFA is known as a 'Combined Fire Authority' which means it is made up of 20 elected Councillors from the six Unitary Authorities in Berkshire: Bracknell Forest, Slough Borough, Reading Borough, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, West Berkshire and Wokingham.

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic individual to support RBFA. The following position will provide a unique and interesting opportunity to provide governance arrangements for RBFA and RBFRS who are responsible for administering various committees and internal meetings.

This role includes working as part of a small team who will lead on RBFA democratic and decision-making process, ensuring statutory deadlines are met. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate high level IT skills, political awareness and sensitivity with the ability to develop positive relationships with Councillors, Officers and members of the public. We are looking for an individual who will assist in supporting a programme of committee meetings, minute taking, providing advice on procedural issues, agenda preparation and advising on their content and formatting reports. You must be able to manage priorities and deadlines in order to provide an excellent service to our customers.

You need to be educated to GCSE level (English and Maths) grade ‘C’ or equivalent and will be encouraged to undertake professional development through training opportunities.
