Job Details

Bob Seely MP is looking for a part-time Intern to join his busy team. The post will be based in Mr Seely’s parliamentary office.

The successful candidate will have the following:
•Excellent organisational skills
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a good telephone manner
•Experience of working and dealing with the general public
•A strong attention to detail and an ability to prioritise a demanding workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure
•Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.

Key Responsibilities

•Assisting on projects
•Assisting with arrangement for events (non political)
•Assisting/learning how to monitor media coverage and brief the MP
•Basic administrative support
•Learning how to analyse, evaluate and interpret data
•Learning/assisting in appropriate research
•Learning/assisting in drafting responses to constituents
•Opening and dispatching mail

Flexible hours including evenings, reflecting the demand of parliament when in session. 15 hours a week worked on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
