The internship will be for one year, commencing in Mar/Apr 2018. The post holder will be paid the London Living Wage rate, 35 hours per week (or part time pro rata, by negotiation). The internship is fixed term appointment and will not lead to permanent employment. Support with job search, and opportunities for gaining experience and skills, are part of our offer.

The internship is designed to be mutually beneficial. The successful candidate will gain knowledge of social justice issues and experience in partnership working, the charity sector, working in a team, supporting programme managers and the work of a busy office.

We expect that up to a day a week will be spent on additional development activities, for example shadowing staff, attending external events for personal learning or perhaps regular volunteering.

Key areas of focus/responsibilities

Supporting the managers of the Criminal Justice, Economic Justice and Migration programmes –:

• diary management, forward planning;
• travel arrangements;
• arranging meetings and events;
• hosting visitors
• providing a support function at meetings
• undertaking special projects as may be needed from time to time
• supporting the Programme Officer with routine administrative tasks

Supporting the Communications Manager-:

• diary management and travel arrangements;
• arranging meetings and events;
• supporting the Trust’s social media channels;
• other ad hoc tasks.
