We are looking for Media & Programme Support Officers to join our award-winning communications directorate, working across three teams – Strategic Communications, Media & Campaigns and Corporate Engagement.

You will hold a crucial role working closely with one of our Senior Management Team managing their diary, advising on daily priorities and arranging meetings.

You will provide a range of support for our teams from organising press conferences, finalising media duty rotas and monitoring the operation of our press cuttings contracts, to raising purchase orders, or arranging agendas for our senior team.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, with an interest in communications; who can work well in a pacey, complex environment, and has a willingness to acquire new skills. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their career and skills in our friendly and dynamic team where learning and development is a key offer. This is a training grade and a perfect opportunity for those looking for their first step in a Civil Service career.

Key requirements for the role:

We’re looking for people with the following skills:
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• A working knowledge of Office information systems – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
• The ability to prioritise, working under pressure to tight deadlines
• A flexible attitude to working with various teams across Communications
• Ability to work on your own initiative

Key accountabilities for the role:
• Diary management for one of our senior team
• Organising papers and agendas for our internal and cross-system meetings
• Monitoring the operation of our press cuttings contract
• Supporting the work of our weekly Communications Board
• Providing operational support for other teams as needed
