About the Role

This is a broad starter role for someone looking to build their career in international development.

Personal Specification

• Good analytical, deduction and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confident and outgoing and be adaptable to change
• Experience of proposal and business case writing
• Copy writing skills
• Strong knowledge of digital media platforms and experience of managing social media accounts
• Knowledge of communications and advocacy
• Excellent command of written English, with ability to tailor writing to different audiences and according to different media (print, web, social).

Desirable
• Knowledge of In-design/photoshop
• Graphic design skills

Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative Duties will include:

• Adhoc administration incl. maintaining diaries and making appointments;
• Carrying out background research on projects as required and presenting findings;
• Producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations;
• Organising and attending meetings and ensuring the director is well prepared for meetings;

Communications Duties will include:

• Support in development and implementation of communications and advocacy strategies
• Social media channels in line with general communications activities, for company and clients including targeted and scheduled posts and responses to questions, comments etc
• Copy writing content for web and promotional literature

Business Development duties will include:

• Discussing strategies with teammates and directors to deliver the best solutions for clients
• Draft business proposals and PowerPoint presentations
• Carrying out specific projects and research as requested by Director

Education and Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree minimum
• Experience working in the International Development field
