The Reading Agency is a charity whose mission is to inspire more people to read more, encourage them to share their enjoyment of reading and celebrate the difference that reading makes to all our lives.

We are looking for an experienced communications manager to develop and lead the communications strategy for our Reading Friends programme, with a particular focus on the national launch in October 2018. You'll need to be a highly organised and resourceful creative thinker with excellent project management skills.

Reading Friends is a Big Lottery funded programme delivered by The Reading Agency. It starts conversations through reading to connect older people and reduce isolation and loneliness. Reading Friends is UK-wide, but locally delivered by public libraries as well as community and voluntary sector organisations.

This is a part time (30 hours per week) fixed term contract with an immediate start until 30 April 2019. The post is based at our offices in Central London.
