The British High Commission in Malta is part of a world-wide network representing the United Kingdom’s political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Press and Communications Officer to:

Design and develop strategic communication plans for British High CommissionProvide a daily review of Maltese press (including translation of Maltese articles if required)Establish and maintain contacts with local journalistsManage the High Commission’s online presence eg facebook, twitter and websiteDraft speeches and articles

Main Duties and Responsibilities
•Social Media managementMaintenance of and advice on local media networks
•Strategic communication planning
•Speech/article writing
•Liasion with visiting communications officers and networking with colleagues in the Europe network

This position is a full-time fixed-term contract of 12 months with the possibility of renewal.

The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearance.
