The Chairman’s Office is based at Conservative Campaign Headquarters in Westminster. It oversees all activity across the Conservative Party and supports the work of the Party's Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Vice Chairmen and Chief of Staff

The role of Executive Assistant to the Chairman’s Office is a fantastic opportunity to work with Ministers and Members of Parliament and gain exposure to the whole Party.

The role will involve:

  • Writing swift, high quality and accurate replies to letters and e-mails on behalf of the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman and Vice Chairmen;
  • Dealing with all phone enquires to the office;
  • Greeting and welcoming visitors;
  • Supporting the Office with the Chairman’s diary management and any other duties as required;
  • Supporting the Deputy Chairman and Vice Chairmen with scheduling meetings, appointments and travel arrangements;
  • Being flexible, providing cover for other staff members working for the Chairman in case of absence, and provide varied office support to the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Vice Chairmen.

Capabilities required:

  • Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail are essential to this role
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritise workloads effectively, and work well under pressure within a busy political office.
  • A strong, pro-active work ethic and will need to be able to communicate effectively with senior CCHQ employees, Ministers, Members of Parliament, and Conservative Party volunteers.

In addition the ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong political knowledge, understanding and judgment.
  • A commitment to the Conservative Party's aims and values.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • A 2:1 university degree or equivalent.
  • Discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ideally, experience of working or volunteering in UK politics.
