Job Details

New position to head up a new provider of support services to 3 Conservative Constituency Associations in the centre of Surrey

  • A full time team of 3
  • Competitive salary dependent on skills and track record
  • Proven track record in the professional or voluntary Conservative Party or comparable organisational experience with a willingness to receive appropriate support and training
  • An opportunity to shape this new organisation and ensure it fulfils its potential locally and to the wider Conservative Party

JOB SUMMARY

The Surrey Conservative Partnership (“SCP”) is a newly created support partnership of initially three Constituency Conservative Associations, which have set up the SCP to provide themselves with stronger campaigning, fundraising and organisational resources.

This vacancy is for the newly created Campaign Director role, which will be the most senior of the three members of staff currently projected to be employed by the SCP. The holder of this position will play a pivotal role in setting up and then managing the SCP, reporting to the SCP Executive (which represents the Member Associations).

This vacancy is therefore a superb opportunity for a dedicated and organised individual, with strong political, organisational and campaigning skills, to support the officers, members and volunteers of the Member Associations to make the SCP a success. Although we currently hold all Parliamentary seats and a significant proportion of the council seats across the area covered by the SCP, we face challenges to our control of at least one of the councils and have a longer term goal of taking control of another. One of the explicit purposes of the SCP is also to improve the campaigning and financial firepower which we can deploy to marginal seats elsewhere, both at General Elections and at other times.

This is a very good opportunity for an individual with a proven track record in Conservative politics or with comparable organisational experience to shape this new organisation and ensure it fulfils its potential, both in the local area and in the wider Conservative Party.

Closing Date: 21 May 2018
