FDA Communications Officer
Full time, permanent
As part of a small communications team, this is your opportunity to be involved in all aspects of our communications work. This will include the FDA’s engagement with the media; writing, editing and updating our website and email communications; writing and sub-editing copy for our award-winning quarterly magazine; and our growing social media output. You will be given the opportunity to influence the union’s development of its communications approach.
You will be a quick learner with good grammar and proof-reading skills, who can write succinct, engaging and accurate copy. You will need to be adaptable, able to work to tight deadlines, and use creativity and initiative within your own appointed projects.
In return you’ll gain a breadth of experience, doing interesting and important work as a part of the FDA’s small, collaborative team. We’ll provide support and training to help you develop in the role.

MiP Communications Officer
Full time, permanent
As our Communications Officer you will help to champion our members in the public debate, and keep them well informed about our campaigning and representative work on their behalf.
The MiP team is small, friendly and expert; we pride ourselves on punching above our weight. You will be our comms lead, working directly with our Chief Executive and in daily control of communications with members and the media. You will develop the format and impact of our digital communications, and support our National Officers and Activists with local and regional communications. You will produce press releases, respond to media enquiries and build relationships with journalists. You will oversee our social media presence and the development and use of our brand new website, which we’re launching soon.
You will be a quick learner with excellent writing and editing skills, who is able to work to tight deadlines. You will have track record of working with both specialist and mainstream media, and will have experience of overseeing and developing digital media.
