FSB is seeking an experienced Policy and Public Affairs professional to work within the EU and International Affairs team to research, develop & communicate the policy and public affairs work of FSB.

In this role, the successful candidate will help define FSB’s EU and international policy priorities and work programme. Working with other policy and media professionals in FSB, you will promote FSB’s policy and public affairs position to external stakeholders through a variety of channels. In addition to this, you will be expected to identify, research and develop working policy for FSB, ensuring that employees and policy leads are well-equipped to respond to emerging issues.

This position comes at an exciting and challenging time. In the midst of Brexit negotiations between the UK and EU, the successful candidate will support the Deputy Head of EU/International Affairs as FSB endeavours to secure favourable exit terms and future trading relationships for FSB members and the wider small business community. All the while, FSB will continue its EU engagement and look to establish new and exciting international relationships.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing relationships with key stakeholders in both the EU institutions and Whitehall. They will have experience in identifying emerging issues, conducting research and developing cutting-edge policy.

This role also requires the post holder to lobby and engage with key stakeholders across a range of government and non-government organisations, at the domestic, EU, and international level.
This role will require regular travel to Brussels, Strasbourg and other parts of the EU and the UK, including evening work and overnight stays.
