Job Details
The relationships you build will shape the future of engineering.
Engineering is at the heart of our nation and our future: transforming ideas and materials into global infrastructure, products and services that increase the wealth and health of our economy and society. As the UK’s national academy for engineering, we bring together the discipline’s finest minds to promote excellence and champion innovation.
We maintain long-standing partnerships with a number of overseas academies of engineering and technology, notably within the European Euro-CASE and global CAETS federations. You will take ownership of these crucial relationships and support the delivery of wide-ranging programmes of activity, giving you extensive responsibilities and an extremely high profile. In particular, you will drive joint policy initiatives, promote diversity and inclusion within the worldwide engineering profession and shape approaches to engineering education, whilst championing entrepreneurship and innovation in everything you do.
This will involve delivering events within advanced economies, providing a secretariat service for pan-global meetings and building outstanding stakeholder relationships, so you will need a rare blend of interpersonal and organisational skills. Educated to degree level, you should be an experienced and adept project manager with a strong policy background and deep interest in the research and engineering sector. Ideally you will be familiar with overseeing budgets and raising funds and you will certainly be able to manage your time effectively, influence industry thought leaders and take clear and considered decisions to advance our vital mission.
The Royal Academy of Engineering is an equal opportunity employer and values the diversity and different perspectives that people from diverse backgrounds bring to their work. It is the Academy's policy to ensure that no job applicant or employee is disadvantaged or receives less favourable treatment because of age, disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, gender or sexual orientation.
In recognition of our continued dedication to workplace diversity and inclusion, the Academy has been named one of the Inclusive Top 50 Employers in the UK.
