At Scope, our mission is to drive social change so that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. We want to achieve everyday equality and support disabled people to get the best start in life, live the life they choose and be financially secure.

We do this by running a range of services, raising awareness of the issues that disabled people face and influencing change across society. We provide support, advice and information for more than a quarter of a million disabled people and their family members every year.

About the role

We are looking for a talented Senior Media and PR Officer to join our dynamic press office, to help us deliver our exciting strategy and brand awareness campaigns.

We’re looking for someone ambitious who wants to use their media and public relations skills to help drive social change so that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.

The role is varied and challenging, but also a great opportunity to develop your skills and abilities. You’ll be heavily involved with our work to influence policy, challenge attitudes towards disability and disabled people, and champion the rights of disabled consumers.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

Significant PR and media experience and has worked on delivering successful campaigns.
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels in a clear, meaningful and effective way.
The ability to be flexible, respond positively to change, and work effectively under pressure and deal with conflicting priorities.
Excellent organisation and planning skills.

The successful candidate will lead on the media delivery and performance of two press officers (one full time, one part time). We particularly welcome applications from disabled people.
