Job Overview
The Heathrow Community & Stakeholder team is responsible for engaging with local stakeholders on a range of airport-related issues. Reporting to the Head of Community Relations this role will have oversight of Heathrow’s engagement with local authorities in order to support the DCO process and build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Principal Accountabilities
- Leading on the development and implementation of engagement plans for priority local authorities
- Leading and co-ordinating engagement with local authorities on Heathrow’s consultation strategy and Statement of Community Consultation (SOCC) and ensuring feedback is incorporated
- Ensuring Heathrow delivers best practice engagement with local authorities during the DCO process including offering training on the Planning Act 2008 to local councillors and council officers
- Working with core stakeholder engagement team to ensure delivery of MOUs where relevant
- Managing engagement and communications programme with local councillors to ensure they have visibility of Heathrow’s community support and environmental acitivities
- Maintaining engagement grid and forward plan and undertaking regular stakeholder mapping
- Preparing briefing notes for CEO and Exec team and for ensuring records of all engagement are made and followed up
- Proactively monitoring the local political landscape and highlighting opportunities or areas for concerns for Heathrow
