Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with Hazel Grove Constituency Liberal Democrats as a key part of their active campaign team.

At the latest Local Government elections Hazel Grove Consituency Lib Dems fielded a full slate of six excellent candidates, all of whom were elected to Stockport Council. This is the first time since 2010 that the constituency party has won all six seats and provides them with an excellent base to build on, winning more councillors and the Parliamentary seat back.

With both Manchester City centre on the doorstep and good transport links with the rest of the North West, the role is a challenging one offering the opportunity to gain experience and training in a busy target seat. Hazel Grove Constituency Liberal Democrats have sitting Lib Dem Councillors and a strong Lib Dem presence linked to a good track record of election success. There are elections every year for Stockport Council and the constituency is also part of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

Working with the office team and a well-developed volunteer network, you will assist in creating high quality literature, canvassing, campaign plans including enhancing digital media, and management of Connect. You will be part of the team running a busy office in the centre of the constituency in Romiley.

The successful applicant will have lots of enthusiasm, good interpersonal and organisational skills, and a willingness to develop. Working closely with volunteers, councillors and candidates, key to the role is the ability to build relationships, along with training and motivating volunteers.

Some evening and weekend work will be required with time off in lieu.

We will notify all applicants when the process is complete.

The Liberal Democrats are equal opportunity employers and particularly welcome applications from groups who are currently under-represented in our staff.
