We’re looking for a recent graduate/post-graduate in urbanism, community development, housing or related subjects to join us to help deliver the most radical and exciting community investment programme in living memory. The Big Local programme is supporting 150 local communities with £1.1m each to spend on improving their neighbourhoods. There are almost no strings attached – all that’s required is that local residents come together and put together a plan around how they intend to make best use of the money. We support them in developing the skills and confidence to deliver on their plan.

It’s a radical experiment in devolving power and resources to a hyper-local level, transforming places and lives along the way. And in delivering it, we are learning a huge amount about how communities work; the potential and the limits of our approach; and what it might mean for policy making, both nationally and locally, as addressing issues of place, inclusion and shared economic prosperity become ever more important parts of our pubic debate.
