Job Details
Hitchin & Harpenden Conservative Association (H&HCA) is seeking an experienced full-time Agent/Campaign Manager to help to build on the existing success of the Association and develop a new strategy.
The constituency has one of the youngest and most dynamic MPs in Westminster, Bim Afolami, who is keen to build the local party and work hard for the constituents of Hitchin & Harpenden.
The Association spans North Herts and St Albans District councils, Harpenden Town council and several Parish councils – most are currently held by a majority of Conservative councillors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to formulate the election strategy for Local, County and General elections and will take the lead role in implementing this strategy and organising the Association’s volunteers in supporting it.
In addition, the successful candidate will be instrumental in organising events where leading political figures come to speak to the Association. In the past few years we’ve had speakers such as Sajid Javid, Jacob Rees Mogg, and this Autumn we’ll be hosting an event with Chancellor Philip Hammond.
The successful applicant will work in a new local office in the center of Harpenden along with the MPs caseworker and Personal Assistant.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• Excellent IT skills, including web and social media skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organisation skills
We especially welcome applications from candidates who have experience:
• Running local campaigns
• Running and promoting events
• Fundraising for, and managing the membership of, an organisation
• Knowledge of the Conservative Party and its structure
This is a highly attractive opportunity for the right person to build on the previous successes of the Association. Due to the nature of the Constituency it is imperative that the candidate has a clean driving license and their own car - as mobile working will be required.
