Chris Green MP is looking for a part-time Caseworker (20 hours per week) to be based in his busy constituency office in Bolton West.
Duties include:
- Draft responses to constituent emails and letters, including policy queries and constituency issues
- Ensure cases are dealt with in a sensitive, confidential and timely manner
- Ensure records of contact with constituents are kept, adhering to the Data Protection Act and respecting the confidentiality of data at all times
- Liaising with Government agencies, voluntary groups and local businesses
- Attending advice surgeries and meetings
- Taking part in community projects and events
Skills required include:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A desire to provide a high quality service to constituents
- Awareness of central and local government structures
- The ability and desire to learn quickly and take on board new challenges
- Good IT skills including knowledge of MS Office packages
- Highly organised and capable of dealing with a large and varied workload
- Ability to drive would be advantageous
- Some evening and weekend work will be required
