This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in public affairs and public relations to work in the Corporate Affairs team of a leading financial services trade organisation.

About the role
We are looking for a bright and articulate intern with an interest in financial services to join our Corporate Affairs team for a full time two-month internship over the Summer, with the potential for the role to be extended until the end of 2018.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with both the UK Government Affairs and Media Relations teams, on high profile business and consumer-driven PR campaigns, as well as on the IA’s government relations strategy. The role will include compiling written reports and briefings on key industry and government issues for use by our members and Executive Committee; researching and drafting press releases and other media communications; and monitoring of the media and Parliament.

About the candidate
The successful candidate will be highly literate with good written and oral communication skills. They will have a good understanding of current affairs and an interest in the business landscape, as well as an interest in politics, government and the media. They will also have a positive outlook, a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail and be willing to take on tasks at short notice and deliver them successfully.
