The Small Charities Coalition (SCC) offers valuable support through different stages in the life cycle of small charities and promotes their interests at a national level. We exist to make life easier for small charities. This is a unique opportunity to work within a small, yet influential national membership and infrastructure charity, based near Elephant and Castle. With ambitious plans for growth in 2018, this is an incredibly exciting time to join us.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the role is to provide greater representation of small charities, ensuring their voices are heard.

We recognise the importance of engaging with the wider charity sector, decision-makers and civil society as a whole. To do that, we are recruiting a new Policy and Public Affairs Manager who will be responsible for managing our relationships with the sector, government and decision makers. This will involve mapping and developing relationships with key stakeholders, working alongside other membership organisations, responding to consultations and supporting the wider communications and campaign strategy.

We are looking for someone with a high level of professional experience to hit the ground running and make an immediate contribution to our busy yet rewarding work environment.

Our ideal candidate will have outstanding communications skills, the ability to negotiate effectively, a proven track record of developing relationships across the charitable sector and government as well as practical experience developing effective public affairs strategies that support wider campaigns.
