Job Title: Parliamentary and Media Outreach Assistant
Working For: Chatham House
Salary: £24,000 pa
The Africa Programme at Chatham House has established itself as a world-leading independent centre for meaningful and practical policy research and debate on the politics and international relations of sub-Saharan Africa.
Purpose of Job: You will be responsible for providing administrative and research support to the British All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) on Nigeria and Angola. You will work with the Africa Programme team to develop links, networks and profile in the UK parliament. You will also support our Africa media engagement and profile through developing networks and engagements with journalists and outlets with Africa interest. Working with a dynamic and growing team, you will have opportunities to work directly with parliamentarians, engage with high-level actors from a range of sectors, develop your understanding of different sectors and issues, deepen your knowledge of Nigeria and Angola, and improve a wide range of skills.
We are looking for someone with lots of initiative and excellent relationship management skills. You will be able to show great attention to detail and have strong communication skills. We are looking for someone who will implement ideas effectively and help to improve them. You must be a self-starter, able to work independently but also with a diverse team.
