To provide strategic advice and assistance to the Assembly Member for Llanelli. The post holder will assist in developing policy and in scrutinizing legislation, policy and expenditure.

The Senior Advisor will provide political advice as well as leading on research, external engagement, policy development and media relations. They will also manage other members of the AM’s staff.

Main Duties

• Providing expert advice – developing policies and strategies in number of fields
• Advising on issues of policy, finance and legislation before the Assembly and any other aspect of Assembly Business
• Identifying local, national and international issues of relevance to Assembly business and briefing the Member accordingly

Essential Knowledge and Experience

• Experience of working effectively within a political environment, including resolving complex issues with tact and diplomacy
• Specialist knowledge in a relevant field, and experience of developing policies and strategies within this field

Desirable Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or equivalent
