I am recruiting a Policy Officer to work for an academic professional association on a 12-month contract. You will be responsible for keeping up to date with policy and legislation changes and identify the implications they may have for the wider membership (pre and post registration) and activities. From this you will research and understand quality improvement whilst coordinating lobbying and public affairs messages, campaigns, and communications both inhouse and externally.

You will consider planned and new legislation and represent the organisation and its members at key research and education meetings, coordinating responses to education and research related consultations and briefing members where appropriate.

You should be educated to at least Bachelor’s degree level (but ideally beyond) or demonstrate the equivalent skills through experience. A qualification in a health related or political science discipline will also be very useful. Experience within a not for profit sector organisation is essential, particularly medical or higher education.

You will need a broad knowledge of health and education within the UK and a thorough understanding of political systems and processes. Your analysis, critical, and communication skills should be exemplary.
