We are looking for a confident and experienced individual to join us as Project Officer working on projects across Save the Children globally, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of global media moments.

As Global Media Project Officer you will project manage our global campaign ‘Every Last Child’, Centenary, and our work saving children in humanitarian disasters. You will maintain planning and tracking function to provide regular updates on GMU activities and act as a key contact for all activity relating to the Global Media Unit. You will be a self-starter and strong team player who is able to work both independently and collaboratively. In addition you will:
• Manage and find ways to improve the monitoring and evaluation of global media moments, GMU outputs and results
• Manage the office of the Head of the Global Media Unit, providing a comprehensive high-level support service including diary, inbox, contacts management, meeting support and travel arrangements
• Create presentations and other communications for both internal and external audiences on behalf of the Head and the Unit
• Manage the directorate budget and expenses, actively identifying potential savings and financial forecasting
• Maintain suitable spreadsheets, databases and evaluation systems as requested.

To be successful you will have demonstrable project management and planning experience with an understanding of the complexities of working for a global organisation with both an operational and advocacy mandate. Educated to degree level, or with equivalent work experience, you will be energetic and creative with strong interpersonal skills. In addition you will have:
• Project Management training in PRINCE 2, or equivalent experience/ training
• Proven budget management and financial forecasting experience
• Experience in media, communications and/or INGO sectors
• Experience in developing and implementing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) processes
• Solid research and report writing skills
• Demonstrable understanding of media and or communications environment
• The ability to manage a diverse workload on own initiative
• Good numeracy skills and understanding of budgets
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel
