This is an opportunity to join a leading international climate NGO in our London HQ, working on ground-breaking programs with business and governments.

About the role

We are looking for a talented and ambitious communications professional to join a growing communications team. This wide-ranging role will sit within the Corporate Communications section of the team, which covers media, content, design, digital and social communications for The Climate Group.

Here you will play a critical role in supporting the communications for our flagship international event, Climate Week NYC, the tenth time we will be holding the major event. You will assist our integrated team on social media and media outreach, as well as helping to support key deliverables for the event itself. 

More widely for The Climate Group, you will support the team across the breadth of communications disciplines to help uplift the profile our key programme areas on renewables, electric vehicles and the Under2 Coalition of global states and regions.

With a passion for storytelling, you will help to significantly progress our approach on content and outreach on social media to uplift our engagement with international communities to lift our international profile, brand and influence.

The opportunity would suit someone with a marketing / communications background looking to kick start their career in a fast-paced, integrated communications team.

Key areas of focus will include:

Marketing

  • Media and Communications
  • Support teams to deliver high quality content (e.g. briefings, case studies, reports, video, blogs, news, tweets etc) for The Climate Group
  • Support our media outreach, helping to instigate and maintain positive contact with influential journalists
  • Drafting and selling in news stories to help lift our profile and influence

Team support

  • Play a key support role to the team planning agendas, writing-up actions and driving those forward
  • Driving forward critical projects for the team wherever required.
  • Working flexible hours when required to support events and announcements across international time zones

This is a full-time position for the period of 3 -3.5 months (end of September 2018).
