Working for a consumer focused charity based in the heart of London you will be joining an organisation recognised by government, the media and industry as the leading campaigning charity in its space. They campaign on behalf of consumers and industry professionals to prevent harm and damage to consumers and their property in addition to raising public awareness of the issues.

Role

As the Media Relations Executive, you will generate ideas for national media campaigns that will influence consumer behaviour and perceptions, sourcing and using research to evidence the stories. You will develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with national and regional print and broadcast media, strategically targeting journalists and pitching stories and exclusives to them. To further campaign reach, you will develop relationships with other stakeholders, including large retailers, other charities and third sector groups.

Candidate

- Experience of proactive media relations work
- Confident pitching news stories to journalists
- Has worked in an agency or in-house
- Good experience of delivering consumer campaigns
- An idea generator and storyteller
- Creative and able to find good story hooks
