Job Title: Executive Assistant to the Archbishops' Secretary for Appointments
Working For: Archbishop of Canterbury
Salary: £30,159p.a.-£32,700p.a. after 6 months probation
The Archbishops’ Advisers for Appointments and Development (AAAD) support both Archbishops in their responsibilities for appointments to senior roles and for ensuring that senior clergy are equipped to deliver a demanding agenda.
The work of the Department is overseen by the Development and Appointments Group (DAG), a sub-committee of the House of Bishops, who lead much of this agenda on behalf of the Archbishops. DAG is currently chaired by the Rt Rev’d Tim Thornton, Bishop at Lambeth.
The Archbishops’ Secretary for Appointments leads the AAAD Department and the post holder will have a combination of Executive Assistant and departmental responsibilities.
We are a small team based at Church House, in the heart of Westminster.
We support the Archbishops and other church committees in appointing Bishops and Deans and with their learning and development.
We are looking for a motivated and competent Executive Assistant who is keen to work with the Archbishops’ Secretary for Appointments and to learn and develop within the role.
Your duties will be interesting and varied including the opportunity to provide committee support and carry out research projects, diary management, budget monitoring and wider administrative support for the department.
