The opportunity

My client is hiring a Junior Press Officer to join their high performing media and communications team. This is a newly created role and as the Junior Press Officer you will have a hands on role in proactive and reactive media relations, social media and events. This is a terrific opportunity for someone to start their communications career in a busy team working at the centre of British business, politics and media.

Main responsibilities

Writing press releases, articles, statements, and social media content
Handling day to day media enquiries, including arranging TV, radio and print, interviews and briefing journalists on policies an related issues
Organising press conferences, media roundtables an ad hoc events
Develop and maintain relationships with media, as well as key internal and external stakeholders, including Director-General, President, Directors and Regional Directors

Key skills and experience required

  • Degree in Media, Politics or relevant field
  • Interest in current affairs
  • Strong communication and skills, both written and verbal
  • Confidence and gravitas to work with senior stakeholders
