Brentford & Isleworth Conservatives are looking to appoint a Campaigns & Social Media Intern to be based in our Chiswick office. Some remote working may be possible when established.

The successful candidate will be someone enthusiastic and ambitious, who thrives on a wide-ranging of competing challenges. Political and campaigning priorities can change quickly and you will need to react quickly to this change. The Campaigning and Social Media Intern will be responsible for updating and creating content on our website, under the supervision of the Chairman of the Association and the Campaign Manager. They will also manage day-to-day interactions with supporters and contacts via social media channels including Facebook and Twitter.

Principal areas of responsibility

  • Weekly management of social media communications with supporters and interested parties
  • Weekly monitoring and reporting of social media activity
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of social media strategies
  • Growth of social media networks and audiences
  • Writing and editing newsletters
  • Recruiting volunteers
  • Providing support for the Campaign Director and Campaign Manager

The Campaigning and Social Media Intern must:

  • Be proficient in use of on-line applications and social media tools
  • Be a self-starter
  • Be well organised, professional and punctual
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to lead and motivate colleagues and activists
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Have a commitment to the aims and values of the Conservative Party
