Linstock advises a wide range of organisations – from financial and professional services companies through to industry trade bodies, universities, care homes and local authorities, they develop compelling communication strategies and help people manage sensitive issues and crises.

The chosen intern will be an ambitious and intelligent individual who is looking to learn from a team of highly skilled and experienced experts. Gaining knowledge in communications planning and media relations, this is a brilliant opportunity to develop your interpersonal skills in a business setting. The successful candidate will develop their research, writing, networking and negotiation skills and learn how to monitor and analyse various media channels and social media networks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Internet research
  • Drafting of research notes and reports for clients
  • Research and database building to support new business
  • Engagement with Linstock social media channels
  • Preparing agendas, presentations and other meeting materials
  • Drafting research reports
  • Liaising with suppliers (design, video and others)
  • Support at occasional new business events
  • Some telephone interviews with business and current affairs contacts
  • Telephone follow up to invitations
  • Some administrative duties

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • Degree level
  • Strong A Levels
  • Mix of interests and subjects welcomed, particularly those that demonstrate a balance of creative and analytical skills
  • Interest in current affairs
  • Some experience in an office environment, ideally in a business to business role with good time management
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make an argument based on evidence and respond to alternative viewpoints
  • Excellent written skills
  • Good numeracy and confidence with statistics
  • Any experience with professional services firms would be a bonus
