The company is offering an exciting opportunity for an Editorial Assistant to work across various departments within SAGE and provide administrative support to editors and publishers as well as the wider team. The successful candidate will report to their line manager and communicate with external contacts such as journal editors and society partners. This is a brilliant opportunity to build your own communication and interpersonal skills within a fast paced publishing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Gather data and draft publishing reports for presentation to journal editors and society partners
Contact journal editors, board members, society partners and contributors (e.g. to discuss progress, request information and answer queries)
Support social media strategies
Research the market (e.g. subject-specific research, industry trends, competition analysis)
Assist the Editor/ Publisher with their meetings and travel arrangements (including taking minutes, following up on action points as directed)
Represent SAGE at relevant conferences, meetings and/or events, as opportunities arise
Coordinate discrete projects and journals-wide administration for the editorial department when required
Provide information for colleagues within Editorial and other departments

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

A well-organised and proactive
Actively motivated and constantly looking for the best ways to get the job done
Strong interest in working in academic publishing
A confident communicator both in person and via email
Proficient at using standard IT packages (e.g Word, Excel, Outlook)
Graduate in any subject area
