Job Title: Research Intern
Working For: Localis
Salary: £20,000 (Pro Rata)
We are looking for a Research Intern to support the delivery of our fast-growing research and policy programme. As a leading voice in the debate around place, economy and public services this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing think tank influencing important policy areas.
Summary of role
The role will be varied and with the breadth in experience that working for a small organisation entails. General tasks will include providing research support to lead researchers and writing short pieces.
The successful candidate can choose to join us for three or six months. At the end of the internship, we will review performance and the Localis work programme and, where possible, extend the internship or offer a permanent position.
We have a commitment to personal development and encourage staff to develop their research interests and public platform. The role is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in politics and public policy.

- Demonstrable interest in political and public policy issues
- Attention to detail and organised
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Willing and ready to show initiative
- Comfortable working in a small team
