Job Details

The National Federation of Women’s Institutes (the WI) is the largest women’s organisation in the UK with almost 220,000 members. It is a unique and ambitious organisation, dedicated to providing women with educational opportunities, the chance to build new skills and to campaign on the issues that matter to them.

The Public Affairs department is responsible for the WI’s high profile national influencing and awareness raising campaigns, policy and research work. We are looking for a hardworking and flexible individual to join our small yet busy team. You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach and great attention to detail.

The Public Affairs Administrator is responsible for providing administrative, event, communications, research and project management support to the staff team, the Public Affairs Committee and WI members. Knowledge of office systems and administration is essential, and experience of working within a campaigns or public affairs department, preferably in a charity or membership organisation, is desirable.

This post will work across the WI’s wide range of issue areas, from food poverty to mental health awareness and climate change. An understanding of social and environmental issues would be an advantage.

This is a full-time position working 35 hours a week, generally Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with some occasional evening and weekends.
