The Labour Party is seeking to recruit a number of Trainee Digital Community Organisers who will help cultivate the digital message for community organising across the country. Working as part of the Community Organising team, the successful candidates will work to harness the power of Party members and supporters by using digital tools and social media to affect and deliver social change and successful electoral outcomes. This is a brilliant opportunity to play a key role in promoting powerful local and national campaigns through digital communications and social media.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the community organising team, promoting community organising and the Labour Party as a social movement
  • Working on the delivery of digital community organising plans
  • Work with the media and digital teams across Head Office, Nations and Regions to use digital medium to build and support volunteer teams that can scale campaigns; organising both local campaigns into national campaigns
  • Working with the Lead Community Organisers to enable and empower members and supporters to organise campaigns in local communities
  • Support the organising of large volunteer led public events that mobilise party members, activists and supporters
  • Use social media and relevant digital applications to assemble and support large teams of remote volunteer leaders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of using social media and digital tools and social media to campaign or spread political messages
  • Good knowledge of the policies, aims and values of the Labour Party
  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • Experience of working on digital campaigns at a local and/or national level is desirable
  • Some knowledge of trends and innovation in community organising or campaigning
