Job Details

Can you grow a network of strong, high trust relationships between London business and London boroughs? This is a critical time for both government and business in London. The city continues to grow faster than anywhere in the UK. Yet business and boroughs must overcome the challenge of skills shortages, Brexit and the investment in infrastructure – whether traditional or high tech – that is essential if London is to be a great place to start and grow a business.

As Head of Business and Enterprise, you will work closely with senior officers, Council Leaders and other politicians to create close relationships between businesses and local government across London. You will develop a framework for high quality dialogue across critical issues, where reaching a shared understanding is vital to the well-being of London’s economy. You will develop policy and lobbying campaigns to promote enterprise and economic development in the capital, identifying issues where both local government and business can work together effectively and speak with one voice. You will develop ways for businesses to effectively shape the skills system in London. You will ensure that businesses ideas for a stronger London are part of local government thinking.

You will have senior experience of working with business and leading related policy development. You will have a track record of forming high trust relationships with external organisations. You will be skilled at finding creative solutions to complex problems and influencing stakeholders with your proven negotiating skills. A self-starter, you will manage projects effectively as part of a team.
