Job Details

Lloyds Banking Group is a financial-services company with millions of UK customers, both retail and commercial, and a presence in nearly every community. Our purpose is to help Britain prosper, and we thrive based on how well we serve our customers.

Be it home ownership, pensions freedoms or savings interest rates, most of our products and services are influenced by political and policy developments that are constantly evolving. And it’s our Group Public Affairs team that plays a key role in working with politicians, governments and regulators to manage our announcements, explain our point of view and encourage a conducive environment in which we can strive to become the best bank for our customers.

In joining this team of professionals, you’ll become a key player in our engagement with the UK parliament and government, devolved institutions, regional and local elected representatives, civil servants, regulators and trade associations. You’ll work on issues across the Group’s interests and brands, leading and supporting colleagues in developing our views and our engagement strategy while listening to what politicians and policy-makers think and care about.

We are looking to recruit a candidate with excellent working knowledge and practical experience of the Westminster political scene.

Specialist financial service knowledge is not necessarily required: you’ll be able to learn about the sector quickly if need be. You’ll be adept at assessing the business impact of external policy developments and at identifying, mitigating and escalating risks to protect and enhance the reputation and interests of the Group. You’ll show the flexibility to adapt immediately to change while keeping our customers at the heart of everything you do. You’ll be practical and hands on, able to organise an event in Parliament for example or political visits to our sites across the country. You’ll also have the ability to deliver counsel and written briefings to senior leaders, both within and beyond the Group, in a manner which is compelling and authoritative.

So if working for us in this hugely important arena appeals and you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, we’d like to hear from you.
