What it’s all about
This is a senior role within our experienced public affairs and stakeholder engagement team. Working within a structure that allows for autonomy, you will be tasked with leading a number of accounts within BECG’s East region across the development, infrastructure and energy sectors.
This role reports into our Associate Directors and Director for the East region and will be based in BECG’s London offices.
What you’ll need to know
You will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and self-starting individual with a passion for operating across the public affairs, stakeholder engagement and community consultation disciplines. You are outgoing and adaptable, and able to build rapport quickly both internally and externally. With a commercial focus, you are driven to build client accounts and develop new business across a range of sectors.
Desirable experience includes:
• Advising clients in relation to public affairs, public consultation, stakeholder engagement and media relations strategy
• Clear understanding of the UK planning system and public affairs sector
• Existing relationships with politicians, media, and prospective clients
• A strong commercial understanding, and experience of working in an agency setting
• Demonstrable background in growing client accounts and securing new business wins
• Line management experience
What you’ll need to do
There will be a strong emphasis on the ability to lead and manage the competing demands of a number of major accounts. The successful candidate will also have a track-record of successfully contributing to business development and will have a key role in supporting new business activity to grow our existing client base in the East of England.
The successful applicant will hold accountability for the effective delivery of projects within their portfolio of clients, advising on and executing effective strategies on time and within budget.
You will play a vital role as a key partner to the senior management team for accounts and new business activity, and provide accurate and regular reporting on activity, results and profitability across your client accounts.
