Job Title: Corporate Affairs Manager
Working For: Tate & Lyle Sugars
The role is maternity cover (12 months), managing a wide range of diverse issues that impact on our European cane sugar refining business. No two days are the same. But the core themes you will be working on include a range of internal and external communications issues, crisis management, liaison with our local communities, and the all-important Government Affairs work the team performs. Along the way you will work with a whole range of people including our factory colleagues, senior managers, national and local politicians, government officials, NGOs, and the media.
One day you could be leading a tour of one of our factories for politicians, the next you could be meeting some of the community partners we support, whilst later in the week you might be running an in-house crisis management drill.
Most importantly, you will be a confident and credible advocate for our business to the outside world. To do this we are looking for somebody who engages with others easily and, at the same time, is single-minded about preparing well and able to manage competing and tight deadlines.
Support will come not only from your colleagues but also from a number of outside consultants that you can draw on for support, who also need to be managed.
Whilst an ideal candidate could come from a corporate affairs background we are open to receiving applications from candidates who feel they have a number of transferable skills that align with this position.
