As the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer you’ll be at the heart of the organisation’s public affairs and policy team which is responsible for the Carers UK’s policy, media, research, campaigns and public affairs functions.

We are looking for a driven, self-motivated to join our small and busy team. As Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer you will work with the Head of Policy and Public Affairs to increase Carers UK’s profile in Parliament and with relevant policy makers and take forward our campaigning priorities.

You will have a pivotal role in maintaining and raising the profile of Carers UK with policy makers and politicians.

You will be part of a successful public affairs and policy team with an excellent track record of campaigning for change and influencing public policy to improve the lives of carers.

As the organisation puts in place its 2021 vision, which includes policy and campaigning as a key priority, this post will work with the Head of Policy and Public Affairs to create and implement the influencing strategy for the organisation to reflect our priorities for the future.

As the UK’s only national membership charity for carers, Carers UK is both a support
network and a movement for change. Guided by a Board of Trustees that’s primarily made
up of carers, we’re rooted in the real experiences of our members. Carers shape our
services and drive our campaigns.

Across the UK there are 6.5 million people caring for a loved one who is older, seriously ill or
disabled. This number is set to rise to 9 million by 2037.
