The Oxford Internet Institute (OII) is the world’s leading centre for research into individual, collective and institutional behaviour on the internet. We are looking for an experienced Head of Strategic Relationships and Policy Engagement to head up the department’s growing external relations group and catalyse engagement with government and civil society in order to leverage significant impact- and income-generating opportunities.

Focussed on OII objectives, you will work in concert not only with departmental staff but also with key Social Sciences Division and central University teams working on development, alumni relations, government and community relations and policy engagement to maximise returns to the department efficiently and effectively.

You will bring a strong understanding of national and international policymaking culture together with astute thinking and excellent interpersonal skills and deploy those qualities to give strategic advice on brokering, exploring and supporting new opportunities for the institute. In parallel, you will ensure solid structural support for building institutional knowledge at the departmental level, capturing and capitalising on activity, and shaping and delivering associated strategies. You will be educated to degree level or the equivalent.
