We are looking for two passionate advocates for nature to join our External Affairs team at either a Parliamentary Officer or a Senior Parliamentary Officer level.

At this critically important time for our environment, with an Environment Bill on the horizon in the Westminster parliament, we are looking for persuasive individuals with a good understanding of parliamentary and political process, one to lead on our political engagement in defined work areas across the organisation and the other to join our team of advocates.

The roles will ensure that our strategy is translated into productive engagement with politicians and their staff, the political parties, influential think-tanks and the political media. Working closely with policy, campaigns and communciations colleagues, our parliamentary advocates find imaginative ways to build support for the RSPB and its policies in Westminster and Whitehall by building and maintaining key relationships with political influencers.

As well as working with RSPB colleagues the roles will require you to form strong relationships with colleagues across the NGO sector, through our partnerships with GreenerUK, Wildlife and Countryside Link and The Climate Coalition.

As we seek to involve people in all aspects of our work, mobilising many more voices and many more interests to protect and restore nature, you will also have the opportunity to contribute actively to our campaigning and movement building work.

The RSPB’s Westminster parliamentary team are usually based in London, but there can be some flexibility on this for the right candidate.
