The Policy Analyst will be part of a team delivering high quality research and analysis to policymakers and other key stakeholders on a range of policy issues, primarily in the security and foreign affairs fields although a specific background in these issues is not required. A key aspect of this role will be preparing a variety of written products for policy-focused audiences. Anyone with the appropriate experience level and a strong familiarity with UK politics and policymaking is encouraged to apply.

Typical duties
• Conducting research and drafting written content for a variety of policy-oriented outputs including policy briefings, content for our website, articles, and longer reports
• Presenting research findings to policymakers and other key stakeholders as well as internal leaders
• Assisting in development of external engagement strategies to amplify the public impact of our research
• Building relationships with other actors in the policy space to foster collaboration with like-minded organisations
• Representing the team at external events and conferences

What We Look For in Our People:
The successful candidate for the role should be able to display the majority of the following:
• Extensive full-time work experience, ideally including the following;
• Robust understanding of UK politics and policy making, preferably including experience working for or engaging with Members of Parliament and Whitehall officials
• Strong communications skills, ability to draft high quality written materials quickly and without errors
• Ability to be flexible, work on multiple projects at once, and get up to speed on new topics quickly
• Strong interpersonal skills; an excellent listener who can work productively and diplomatically with a wide array of different people and institutions
• Persuasive, highly articulate, and good at presenting ideas and gaining support from individuals and organizations.
• Flawless professional English language communications skills, written and oral
• Relevant educational experience in political science, policy, economics, or other related fields (Master's degree or equivalent is preferred)
• Limited international travel may be required
