Hackney Labour secured their best results in the May 2018 local elections since 1986; returning 52 councillors out of 57.With two Labour MPs, a Labour GLA member and Labour Mayor we have a lot to defend in the 2020 GLA elections and 2022 Hackney borough elections.Are you up for the challenge?

We are seeking an experienced organiser on a part-time basis to continue the development of our organisation, improve the involvement of our members in the Party and of the Labour Party in the wider community.

Key Responsibilities Include

o Providing the main support for campaign activity, both outside and during the election period.
o Maintaining campaign records and data to monitor activity and results across the Borough.
o Facilitating and generating social media content for campaigning and other purposes
o Developing positive relations with elected councillors, local party officers and members
o Designing, laying out and drafting content for campaign literature when required.
o Organisation of fundraising events.
o Facilitating ward specific and Borough-wide campaign action days.
o Under direction overseeing and accounting for campaign budgets.
o Co-ordinate community organising across the party
o Provide regular training to Labour Group and Party members in campaigning techniques and other aspects of political life in order to strengthen and build the party and individual members confidence
o Act as a liaison between regional, national and local parties when required
o Ensure the office is run effectively and efficiently
o To create teams of experienced people to support other Labour Parties out of borough in their campaign work

Personal  Specification

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional manner.
o Experience of data collection and analysis.
o Excellent ability to generate and manage social media content,
o Flexible with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
o Excellent interpersonal skills, with a good sense of humour.
o Strong organisational, political, communication and campaigning skills.
o Good knowledge of UK politics, especially across the London Boroughs.
