This role will involve two main activities:

  • lead delivery of stakeholder engagement and consultation for a range of infrastructure and other development projects; and
  • lead growth of stakeholder engagement service capabilities from Bristol across AECOM’s UK business, with a focus on providing advice and support to project teams in the south west working in a variety of sectors.

Responsibilities

The person undertaking this role will be responsible for:

  • management and day-to-day delivery of stakeholder engagement and consultation services on infrastructure and other development and environmental projects;
  • provision of specialist stakeholder communications and engagement advice to projects across AECOM’s UK business;
  • lead identification of new business opportunities for the provision of stakeholder engagement services and leadership of associated proposal development; and
  • taking a leading role in the ongoing proactive promotion of AECOM’s stakeholder engagement services to both internal and external audiences.

Working arrangements

The role is based in Bristol but will require willingness to travel to other AECOM and client offices to work on projects; build relationships and follow-up new business opportunities. Some home working to maximise work efficiency and reduce time lost to travel can be included in the working arrangements.

Minimum Requirements

Core skills and competencies

The role will require the following skills and competencies:

  • Experience of delivering stakeholder engagement for infrastructure and other major development or environmental projects;
  • experience of delivering statutory consultation for schemes being consented via hybrid Bill, Development Consent Order (DCO),Transport and Works Act Order (TWAO) and Town and Country Planning Act;
  • passionate about delivering best practice principles for stakeholder engagement;
  • proven project management skills and ability to help others develop;
  • ability to work on own initiative and as part of multi-disciplinary team;
  • high standard of personal communication skills and confidence to engage with people in different sector disciplines, present to peers and clients, and communicate with technical/professional and community stakeholders; and
  • willingness to travel and work flexibly.
