I am seeking an exceptional individual to join my hard-working team as a Caseworker in my local constituency office.

The successful candidate will be passionate about improving people’s lives and have a genuine care and concern for the welfare of my constituents. This needs to be balanced with the ability to be firm. Good research skills are necessary and to be able to work well under pressure with minimal supervision. The person will need to be friendly, have an approachable attitude with the ability to interact with people at all levels. This role would suit someone with excellent written, communication and social skills, who is well-organised and proficient with computer technology.

Role and Responsibilities:

Analyse patterns of enquiries and produce reports
Attending surgeries and other meetings as appropriate
Dealing with standard queries from members of the public
Draft responses to constituents
Establish a social media presence in the constituency and publicise surgeries etc.
Gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases
Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
Anything else which is required

Skills and Experience:

Excellent writing skills
Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience working in an administrative role
Excellent communication skills and with working the public
Ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines
Ability to take initiative and to be self-motivated
Interest in politics and commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party

A post-graduate qualification is desirable
Previous work experience is essential
Good time management
