Job Details

Reporting directly to the Director of Research & Policy, this varied role will include assisting in the delivery, development and expansion of our flagship atrocity prevention programme; leading the consolidation and development of the Charity’s profile and presence in Westminster; and undertaking individual and collaborative research. The role is likely to include some travel within the UK, to Europe, East Africa and to New York.

The role is a rare opportunity to shape and lead urgent policy conversations about some of the world’s most urgent issues. Because we are small but growing it is a role with immense potential to contribute to the evolution of Protection Approaches’ voice and profile during these critical years of organisational development. The right candidate will be encouraged to build their written portfolio, undertake original research, and pursue relevant avenues of personal professional development.

We are looking for proven research and analysis skills and a good knowledge of politics and public policy in the UK, particularly of international relations and British foreign policy. You will need excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, to be confident engaging with different audiences, and enjoy getting stuck in to varied tasks. We are a small team where innovative, creative, and strategic thinking is essential.

Far more than specific experience or background, we are looking for someone with keen intellect, sharp attention to detail, quick initiative, and genuine commitment to the values of Protection Approaches. The successful candidate will be offered a salary and job title commensurate with their experience. All options can be discussed at interview stage.
